DXU or Design Exchange Union is a collaborative project between Pratt Industrial Design, Interior Design students and faculty with Semios Studios. Materials were generiously donated by Falconboard and Semios. This installation was erected during Pratt Institute’s famous, annual Draw-a-Thon where the public is welcome to participate in a 12 hour-long, life drawing all-night extravaganza. This flat pack structure, of the DXUnit, provides a space for design criticism, exercise, interaction, inspiration, and of course, fun! With people on campus drawing for hours on end, we thought the DXUnit would be a perfect way to provide for a physical and mental “stretch”. See the above video to watch us assemble the structure, and check back soon to see how people responded to it!
